The World Cup 2006 (4)

England 2 vs T&T 0
Once again it's Beckham making the goals. England looked so much more lively with the 55th minute substitutions. I thought it was a pretty bold change for Swen, taking off Carragher for Aaron Lennon. Love to see those risk taking moves by managers. But Terry and Ferdinand were steady at the back, and Rooney's introduction to the World Cup pinned T&T to their own half.

Lampard managed quite a few shots on target. And I kept wondering if Gerrard was deployed in that role, he might have taken those chances much better. And sure enough, he proved just that in extra time with a beautiful swing on the left foot.

All in all, I really want to say...

Welcome back, Rooney.
